What is P8?

Platypus P8 is a premium quality Line that's 8 carrier braid and incredibly strong – made right here in Australia.

What makes it special?

P8 Braid is the first 8 carrier braid from Platypus. Its 8 strand construction not only makes Platypus P8 stronger than steel, but it also makes this one of the thinnest braids available on the market.

Why choose 8 braid?

8 carrier braids are rounder and thinner than regular 3 or 4 carrier braids, and don't flatten and take on water as 12 or 16 carriers do.

Using 3 or 4 carriers produces a cheaper but technologically inferior braid – whereas 8 braid is absolute premium. (8 braid construction is used all the time in Japanese braids – and that says everything!)

8 braid also uses an ultra tight weave of 100% Ultra High Molecular Weight PE >Gelspun fibres, which have been computer-monitored and engineered with near zero stretch.

Unlike fused >Gelspun lines, it has zero memory for better control and >Sensitivity. Even better, Platypus P8 also won’t be weakened by sunlight.
