Have you noticed anything different about our website this week?

As part of our website's 21st birthday celebrations, we have upgraded to version 6.0 – with new responsive design and mobile functionality. At midday 24th March, V6.0 went live after two years in the making.

You'll notice the site is much easier to use across a greater Range of devices. The site scales and resizes to suit whichever screen you're viewing on – and images are much larger.

New Features

We have a new section called 'Advice and How To' alongside our News Articles, where you'll find a tonne of informative articles and advice to help you out on the water.

We also have our Boat Wiki, which explains thousands of fishing terms and phrases. Heard a phrase thrown around a lot and not sure what it means? Check it out in our Wiki section. If you see a word on our site in a different colour, hover over or click on it and it will take you to an explanation of the term. If you still don't understand (or disagree with us), email us with a question and we will rewrite the explanation.

It's also much easier to compare multiple products side-by-side with our improved 'Add to Compare' function. Previously you could only compare one or two at a time – now you can compare as many as you like.

Can't decide between different products? Simply click the 'Add to Compare' button, go into 'Compare' at top of the screen, and view them side-by-side. You'll be able to compare specifications like power, size, features and price – with all the information you need on the one screen.

Spare Parts

If you're looking for spare parts for a product no longer in production, we also have you covered. We stock a Range of Discontinued Parts from a number of manufacturers, including Navman, Northstar and others.

Since our website first launched back in 1997, the CH Smith website has certainly seen a lot of changes – with version 1.0 based on Pearl code we had written ourselves from scratch!

By December 2013 we had upgraded to version 5.0 based on a Magento platform, introducing a much better user interface for a better online shopping experience.

We have always aimed to be a wealth of information on all things fishing, and we hope you like the changes. So take a look around and see what you think!
