Greyscale is the use of varying shades of grey to represent the strength of the Sonar signal on a fishfinders display, or other display units (GPS, Chartplotters, Digital Compass etc). Traditionally the darker the grey, the stronger the signal. Greyscale is still renowned today as a very intuitive method of presenting information.
