Geocaching with Garmin eTrex

Garmin has released its new, updated Range of eTrex Handheld GPS models, perfect for a day of >Geocaching with friends and family.

But what's >Geocaching, you ask?

Geocaching is the ultimate kind of treasure hunt – an outdoor activity where participants use GPS to hide and seek containers called geocaches or caches. A >Geocache could be hidden anywhere in the world and can be any shape or size – but will usually take the form of a small waterproof container. There are usually little treasures hidden inside to collect and swap, and a Logbook where finders keep record of who's found the cache, and when.

There are over 2 million geocaches hidden right around the world, even in Antarctica!

There are probably geocaches hidden near you right now. All you need to start finding them is a compatible GPS device and your sense of adventure.

Garmin eTrex devices are perfect for this as they come with 250,000 preloaded geocaches, an electronic Compass and wireless connectivity. The eTrex 25T and 35T Touch models also offer intuitive access to a worldwide basemap with shaded relief, and a redesigned multi-activity menu that puts all the information you need at your fingertips.

They're versatile and tough enough to handle whatever Mother Nature throws their Way – both on land and on water. Some caches will require a Boat to get to!

It's a great Way to spend a weekend, so what are you waiting for? Who knows what adventures await you!
