Lowrance LSS-2 StructureScan Transducer Installation

LSS-2 StructureScan Transducers do not have to be mounted in a conventional ''L'' shape off the Stern. As the first 2 images show, they can be reversed along a flat section of the Hull, provided it is pointing straight down. In this position the Transducer is protected from being stood on.

When this method is used, a setting is changed in the setup to indicate the Transducer is installed in the reverse position.

Note: the Airmar B60 is using a 20 degree Deadrise bronze thruhull Transducer on the right - in this position the owner was able to get bottom recordings at 60kph -(see bottom photo).

  • StructureScan specifically needs to be parallel with the >Waterline when the vessel is at optimum speed.
  • Transducer should be within 300mm of the Echosounder (if used) and at the same point fore/aft to ensure that structure overlay is accurate (as per second image below.)
  • ScructureScan Transducers should be on the inboard side of the Echosounder Transducer to avoid obstruction of the Beam.
