BEP 24 Volt Trolling Battery Charger

Description: BEP 24 volt Trolling Battery Charger enables 24v charging from an outboard's 12v DC charging system. Using a BEP automatic Trolling Bank Voltage Sensitive Charging Module, two 12v batteries connected in series can be charged from the BEP 24V Trolling Battery Charger.

Once the outboard has been started, all charge is directed to the start battery until it reaches a fully charged voltage (13.7v). When fully charged, the outboard's charging output is directed to the two trolling motor batteries, alternating charge between the two batteries for one minute at a time. This continues as long as the engine is running and the voltage in the start battery is over 12.8vDC.

When the engine is switched off, the start battery will drop below 12.8V, starting the cycle again. Click here for details.

Description: Absorbed Glass Mat Batteries (AGM) are a totally sealed (no caps, but vented for overcharge) maintenance free battery with the plates packed in micro-fibre mat. Developed in the early 80's for military use, the elecrolyte is captured within the mat, giving a lower resistance within the battery. Unlike gel batteries, they are fully compatible with automotive chargers.
