TVL

Television Lines - a way of measuring horizontal Resolution - refers to the number of alternating light and dark vertical lines in an image that can be resolved per picture height. These lines typically can't be detected by the human eye.

A higher number of TVL means that a camera will be able to render images with more detail. However, TVL is not the sole factor that determines the quality of the final output. For example, the Resolution does not affect the colour reproduction of the camera.
