Chartplotter is an electronic navigation device that displays charts, usually combined with a GPS Receiver. Chartplotters show your present position on a digital map, along with tracks, waypoints and routes.

A Chart Plotter enables continuously monitoring of the position and movement of in relation to the surrounding physical environment, both above and below the water.
