Spring Into Trout Season!25/08/2011Spring is almost here and with that first magic weekend in September the trout season opens in Victoria! Victoria has experienced a deluge of rain during the year and the rivers are running high with healthy fat trout! Over the Winter anglers have experienced great catches of fish in the lakes and impoundments around the state, but now it's time to get serious, chuck on some waders and go out for a fish! So what's new for this season? CH Smith are proud to announce that there is actually quite a bit. The new range of NS Rods from Korea are expected to destroy the trout, with a number designed specifically for chasing these great sports fish. The NS Hurricane Trout Rods are small, compact rods which are perfect for exploring those little streams. These Ultra-Light rods can cast the tiniest of weights miles and miles, while providing plenty of power for that big trophy fish! If travel is on your mind then have a look at the NS SGII trout telescopic rod . This 2-5lb telescopic rod is made out of graphite and packs up to a very compact size, while still allowing you to cast a mile and handle even the largest trophy fish! CH Smith have a number of great lures available for trout fishing this year. The ever-reliable Rublex Celta 's are sure to produce some quality fish once again as well as that old standby – the Rapala CD05. New products on the market include the Berkley Rippleshads , Berkley T-Tail Minnow , Strike Pro Sprat Sticks and the Daiwa Gekkabijin Vibe . A number of new fishing lines have come out over the Winter as well. Berkley's Nanofil Unifiliament line will revolutionise finesse fishing thanks to it's unique design and performance. Also new to the market is Line System's All Bass Nylon Monofiliament line . This line has virtually zero memory and can cast a country mile, making it perfect for the traditionalists out their who do not like using braided lines. Already I feel that this season will be a cracker and if you have any enquiries or just need some plain honest advice feel free to give me a call at the shop on (03)94171077 or email me at sam@chsmith.com.au Good luck and tight lines guys!
