R509LH Chirp Transducer-- A first look!

It sits on the shop floor like Godzilla, but unlike this cult movie, this R509LH Chirp Transducer isn't a cheap B-Grade Knockoff-- instead it's a US marvel, a perfect piece of marine engineering. And it's BIG - see it next to a size 11 Active Casual Shoe!

At almost 60 centimetres long and 20 centimetres wide, this CHIRP transducer arrived in the shop today and the CH Smith staff got to have a look.

The first thing you notice is the weight as you try and move this leviathon, and then you pull it out of the box and it sits there in all it's glory.

There is a reason for it's mammoth size too -- with the capability of pushing out the equivalent of almost 3kw of power, this unit is enormously powerful.

Its unique ability is that you can adjust your frequency and Beam Width quickly and easily, making it

hugely adaptable for a range of fishing techniques.
