MotorGuide Xi5 Range is new to Australia and New Zealand, distributed by Mercury Marine and has been upgraded to meet the AMCA (Australian Communications Media Authority) requirements. While the MotorGuide Xi5 has been available in the US since the end of last year, it took until July to be modified to gain C-Tick approval.

The C-Tick mark signifies that the labelled electronic device is compliant with applicable electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. The C-Tick mark also provides a traceable link between the equipment and the supplier and is a pre-requisite of the Australian Government to legally sell the product in Australia.

There have been instances where the MotorGuide  Xi5's have been advertised for sale on the internet through overseas suppliers or third party importers.

If these products do not display the C-Tick logo then they are not AMCA compliant and shouldn't be operated in Australia. Users are liable for prosecution.

Non C-Tick approved motors are not covered by Australian warranty.
