Oceansouth have a large range of boat covers and accessories, designed to protect your Boat when travelling or stowed. When fitted and stored correctly, these will help to reduce moisture build up, mould or mildew damage.

Once you have purchased the correct cover for your Boat, start by fitting the front end first, pulling it over the Bow of the Boat and continuing until the full Boat is covered. Remember to make sure that all sharp or protruding points are well covered with a cloth or sponge to avoid damage. Next, thread the tie down straps through the webbing loops and secure the tie down strap to the trailer at the closest point from the loop. Pull the webbing up evenly around the hem using slinch cam buckle, until tight. Then fit your trailering straps (which are longer than the tie down straps) by threading them through the fabric guide loops located on the cover to the front and rear. Place the straps across the cover using the guide loops and secure using the buckle under the Hull. Finalise the process by adjusting the tension on hem webbing and tie down straps to ensure tension is evenly distributed.. When travelling long distances, it is recommended  to ensure that an even tension is maintained across the cover.

To clean your cover, make sure that you use a soft brush and some lukewarm water. Do not use laundry soap or detergent as they can damage the cover's protective coatings. A storage bag is supplied with all Oceansouth covers for when it is stowed. It is important that your cover is clean and completely dry before placing it inside the storage bag.

Some compounds used in new boats can release gasses that can cause dyes in Boat covers to transfer to the Boat and cause staining. Therefore, it is recommended not to use a Boat cover on a new Boat in the first four weeks to allow any gases to dissipate.

Oceansouth have recently released some Boat Cover Vents to help ventilate your Boat cover and further prevent moisture build up, mould or mildew damage. These are easily installed on the cover with the under plate locking into the top dome and fastened with 4 screws.
