Is the Simrad NSS16 inch monitor the new 12 inch?

The Simrad NSS16 Evo2 combo is the fourth and largest model in the Evo2 family and may prove to be more popular than the NSS12 Evo2 Combo. As our televisions have increased in size, it's an obvious progression that our Fishfinder and chartplotters will get bigger as well. With new abilities such as SonarHub, Autopilot and other extra add ons now available to make your fishing experience easier to navigate, many are also searching for larger screens to be able to accommodate all of the extra information.

Comparing the two units:

  • NSS16 Evo2 is 429mmW x 246mmH x 105mmD (not including bracket) and weighs 5.3kg
  • NSS12 Evo2 is 345mmW x 215mmH x 105mmD (not including bracket), Weighing only 3.48kg.
  • With only an 84mm difference in width and 31mm in height, the units themselves take up a similar amount of space as the earlier 12" models, whilst having a 4 inch difference in screen size.

When then compared to its earlier incarnation:

  • NSS12 Sport 353mmW x 250mmH x 97.8mmD (not including mounting bracket), this unit is the same height as the new 16 inch version and wider than the new NSS12 Evo2 Combo.

Our Screen Size Comparison shows how all the screen sizes differ between the Simrad NSS models and is a great tool when trying to decide which size will best suit your needs.
