Founded in 1956, B&G (formally Brookes and Gatehouse) are known for developing advanced high quality instruments and systems for race or cruising sailing yachts. They were first recognised for developing the "Homer" receiver - one of, if not the first, transistorised RDF (radio direction finder) to be sold to the recreational market.
They have changed hands several times in their long lifetime but are now under the Navico label, operating as a sailing oriented division of their product development lines.
