Gamakatsu

Gamakatsu hooks started producing fish hooks in 1955. Originally made by hand, the Gamakatsu fish hooks very quickly became known in Japan as the best hooks you could get. As demand outstripped supply, Gamakatsu hooks moved to automated manufacturing while maintaining a strong focus on 'made in Japan'. As the Gamakatsu product line expanded, the Gamakatsu company became a major manufacturer with a full line of high quality fishing rods, hooks, fishing apparel, and fishing related items by 1987. Today when anglers purchase Gamakatsu hooks, they are buying an original product made by GAMAKATSU and not fish hooks sourced from manufacturers using fabricated Japanese sounding names.
